About me

I'm Bart, and CorsicaTips is my personal guide to Corsica.

My first trip to the island was on a motorbike — two weeks without a tight plan, with more unexpected moments than schedule. A flat tyre somewhere in the Agriates, help from a stranger with a pick-up, an evening on a terrace in Calvi where I can still tell you exactly where I sat and what I drank. That was the trip that made me fall in love with Corsica.

This summer I'm going for the second time, on the motorbike again. Two weeks, from Toulon via Bastia down to the south. Along the way I'm writing here about what I'm learning and finding.

Why this site

When I was preparing for that first trip, I mostly found two kinds of Corsica content online: official tourism sites that listed everything tidily but shallowly, and blogs so plastered with ads and pop-ups that you could barely get to the story underneath.

CorsicaTips is meant to be the alternative. A guide in plain language, written by someone who's just been or is about to go, with the details I think actually matter — and nothing else. No ads. No pop-ups. No "10 things you MUST see."

What you'll find here
